Whats growing in the Kitchen Garden

Many Veggies and herbs grow well over Winter ready for harvesting in Spring.

At present there is a large bed of garlic, broad beans, asparagus, cabbage and different types of onions.

Ready to pick now the following:
                                                        
Different types of Lettuce             great for mixed salad

Silver beet   and Spinach            great in stir fry   or spinach lightly cooked with scrambled eggs

Bunching/spring onions             also great in stir fry and soups

Parsley                                       popular in salads, soups and casseroles

Rosemary                                  great for roasts  and potato pizza

EASY PIZZA 

Pizza base     Round flat bread

Onto base a couple of tablespoons of your favorite tomato sauce.
Handful of your favorite grated cheese.
Slices of precooked potato slices( rub a sliced garlic clove over them for extra flavour).
Cook for about 15 mins   Last 5 mins sprinkle with some rosemary leaves and black pepper.

When pumpkin in season try with pre-roasted pumpkin pieces. Cut up pumpkin into small pieces toss in a little olive oil and roast with a couple of garlic cloves ,   180 C     about 20mins.
